Upcoming ACT-CATS Executive Council Elections

The next Executive Council elections will take place on June 3, 2025, at noon, at the ACT-CATS General Assembly, during the ACT-CATS Annual Conference. This year, two positions are open.

If you would like to join the ACT-CATS Executive Council to promote research in translation studies within a motivated team, send your application to contact@act-cats.ca with a short bio (150 words) and a motivational paragraph (200 words) by May 30, 2025 .

Description of the two positions to be filled (only active members can apply)

The President (2-year term) shall be responsible for the overall management of the Association. They shall be the Association’s representative and official spokesperson. They shall convene and chair the Annual General Meeting and meetings of the Executive Council. They are authorized to receive donations, bequests and subsidies on behalf of the Association. In this capacity, the President also sits on the Executive Committe and the Editorial Committee of TTR : Translation, Terminology, Writing .

The Vice-President (2-year term) shall deputize for the President in cases of absence or impediment. They shall be responsible for communications (website, newsletter, memberships) with members and the public. In the event that the presidency falls vacant, the Vice-President shall succeed the elected President.
